 Given the growing importance of environmental issues both within our sector and as a primary objective for the government, Haslam Homes firmly believe that an environmental approach to construction makes good business sense. By providing sustainable development in the heart of communities, regenerating brownfield sites and use of local resources, the group seeks to benefit the local environment whilst at the same time minimising the negative environmental consequences of its activities.
Our environmental management team are responding to the challenge of developing the environmental policies which reflect Haslam's values and objectives. We are also working closely with the Environmental Consultancy of the University of Sheffield who are providing advice and assistance on environmental matters, to achieve our goal of BS EN ISO 14001 accreditation.

Environmental Policies include;
- reducing or eliminating where possible, the use of materials and products derived from non-sustainable sources. The picture below shows oil being extracted from a site to be recycled as fuel for community heating systems.
- Making more efficient use of natural resources by conserving energy and water.
- Using our technical expertise to identify new techniques and methodologies to minimise, and where possible, eliminate waste.
- Gaining respect from the local communities in which we work by ensuring all our sites are clean and tidy and that dust and noise are kept to a minimum.
- Sharing ?Best Practice' with customers, partners, the supply chain and the wider community.
- Using and maintaining an efficient fleet of group vehicles which have reduced impact on the environment.
